In ’09 2009, she was called expert faculty for the Sigma Theta Tau Nurse Faculty Leadership Academy. Her volunteer involvement in raising 12 service canines offers allowed her to advocate for individuals with disabilities and enhance their quality of life.. AAN recognizes Loyola faculty member with nursing fellowship Fran Vlasses, RN, PhD, NEA-BC, ANEF, FAAN, was inducted as a fellow in to the American Academy of Nursing on Oct. 15 at the academy’s 38th Annual Meeting and Meeting in Washington, DC. Dr. Vlasses is an associate chair and professor in the Department of Health Systems, Leadership and Plan at Loyola University Chicago Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing . Selection for membership in the academy is among the most prestigious honors in neuro-scientific nursing.The rest of the four weeks are allocated to rotations at primary care, inpatient and community health care facilities. To date, AHF has executed six HIV Medics teaching classes in countries including Uganda, Vietnam, India and Zambia. Since then, AHF has conducted several HIV Medics training applications in the national nation, and spent some time working on projects with both Zambian Ministry of Wellness closely, the Church Health Association of Zambia and other partners. At present, AHF-supported treatment treatment centers in Zambia are treating over 15,000 HIV/AIDS patients.
